ADVANCE PROGRAM

FOCUS
The meeting will include speakers and attendees from industry, academia and government and will focus on advanced technologies and strategies that will enable integrated photonic devices, modules, and systems to provide break-through capabilities for a variety of applications ranging from communication to sensing. A goal of the meeting is to identify key issues for deployment of new technology and areas for future research.

FORMAT
The meeting will include plenary sessions and topical sessions and workshops that will present industrial, academic, and government perspectives on the challenges facing photonic systems. Specific sessions will be chaired by CIPS faculty.

Each topical session will review current research results, technology development, and applications. Speakers will be from inside and outside the MIT community. A portion of each session will be reserved for an open discussion of major technical and market issues; the workshops will include panel discussions. There will be two parallel sessions on Wednesday and Thursday.

The meeting will start at 9 a.m. on Wednesday May 14, and conclude at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 15. There will be an extensive poster session highlighting CIPS research activities providing ample opportunities for attendees to interact with CIPS faculty, invited speakers, and students.
